Herb Blurb

I have been growing a lot of  windowsill herbs lately and so I thought I would focus on the theme of herbs this thyme. I currently have cilantro, basil, thyme, chives and lavender growing at my apartment. I haven't been inspired to grow any other kind of herbs as I don't really know what to use them with. I would love some suggestions of herbs that people like to grow and even more so I would like to know what you do with those herbs.  Below are some pictures of my herbs as well as some inspiring indoor herb gardens!

Home Town Mystery

I visited my home town of Victoria, BC this weekend. I was inspired to take a few pictures of this amazing bonsai that my mom has in her living room. The most impressive thing about it, is how large the bonsai is. You can see how thick the wire is that was used to shape the bonsai into the desired position.  I am not certain what the variety of bonsai is, but since it has always been an indoor plant I am assuming it is not a Juniper bonsai like mine. Please let me know if you know what it is.

Mason Jar Herb Garden

My father-in-law gave me some cuttings from his mint plants.  I decided to plant them in a few mason jars I had lying around. Below I have included a step by step picture guide of how I did this. I also planted some cilantro and lavender in the same method a few weeks ago and have included  a picture of the cilantro.

Updated Terrarium

I had to replace one of the plants in my terrarium because it died :( The new plant I added is an air plant that gets most of its water from the air. The woman at the shop I got it from did a quick makeover as well and made it pretty again. What do you think?
